A little late posting, but I wanted to be sure I shared something my students/school and I are very proud of. Last month, 4 students and I painted this piano with an arts/pride theme for our school. I met with the students every day during their advisory and they developed this project from start to finish. We sat down and discussed/combined ideas until we had a vision we were happy with, sanded and primed the piano (the least fun part, and their first time doing anything like that), painted it maroon and spent several late nights painting the images/layers. The sense of ownership and pride my students had made me so excited to see, and I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to create something beautiful and lasting for the school. So I was walking in Atlantic City with the big chief and We saw an upright piano right in front of a theatre That& #x27;s how I went to disgrace my family people. I would blame it on the fact that I have NEVER played a fully weighted upright piano and I dont know how the pedals work. And that I have not technically played a piano since 2015 since I went into semi-retirement, so… I attempted to play Pachbell& #x27;s Canon (originally in key of D) But did mine in C # Those keys are heavy ooooooo. Damnn. So story behind this piano is that a group decided to foster peace across US and Europe by placing pianos in public places. So at airports, malls and event centres, train stations and so. They paint the pianos colourful and label them "Play Me, I& #x27;m yours." So anybody that finds them can just play. About this weekend... my chill level was not as accurate as I had hoped but, I have no complaints. A couple highlights Angela and I ate at @5churchatlanta and @chefscotleyinnis food was amazing, as always. We had these little crispy clouds in some type of sauce (I& #x27;m obviously a food connoisseur lol). I can& #x27;t tell you what they were, but I can assure you they were delicious! Then I put on my big girl panties and bought my first car!! It has a panoramic sunroof and it drives so smooth! Her name is Wilma and she is my newest ride or die. Reason why I love Atlanta number 29382729. I take the MARTA almost every single day to and from campus, work, etc. As of recently this piano has been placed at the Five Points station on the Peachtree side. The sign on the piano says, " Building peace through music & education." This is beautiful! Just the other morning a group of individuals from all walks of life, different races, religions I& #x27;m sure, were gathered around this piano playing & singing so harmonizingly beautiful! Shout out to #PianosForPeace for this display of humanity! #MartaIsSmarta 😌
