Anna Keppen’s (@flyingbirdanna) piano is completed and at its new location located at the Klamath Commons. Anna’s intention with “Klamath, falls in love”, was to bring the community together. Pianos are dropped to their locations and the Artists are starting to work on them this week!!

Artist Avery Dumbeck’s (@avd2089) “Make Each Day Your Masterpiece” piano hopes to 𠇎ncourage us to live in the moment, to take things one day at a time, day by day. With the current paradigm of change requiring ongoing adaptability, the future can become intimidating to navigate. We miss what we gain each day, by focusing on the prospect of losing out in the future. While both present and future are important, we must purposefully pursue mindfulness in our everyday activities.” She hope to promote a moment of awe and encouragement to continue forward, day by day though her art work on the piano. The design is meant to represent different parts of a day and highlight the beauty in each. Avery was raised in Klamath Falls and graduated from KU. She returned back to Klamath Falls in 2015 and now works at Sky Lakes Medical Center.

With this piano painted by Anna Keppen (@flyingbirdanna) we hope “Klamath, falls in love” with our community, again. Anna is a Klamath Falls local. She has a passion for art, yoga, music and plant medicine! Anna spent the majority of the last seven years living and working in indigenous communities in the Amazon jungles of Peru. She is currently in Graduate school at Oregon Tech.  Her piano was inspired by the growth that Anna has recently witnessed happening in Klamath Falls. “Growing up in Klamath County and being ਊway for so long, it’s beautiful to come back and see positive change happening in our community. I feel there is a revitalization happening here, and I’m honored to be part of that process”.

It’s a 𠇏ield of wildflowers” that Glory Nylander (@glorynylander) and her family will be painting at Veteran’s Park this Summer! Glory is a musician, mother and creative. The Klamath Piano Project will be her first large scale, mural-like painting project and a long term dream of hers to paint a piano. Glory's husband Jordan is a classical pianist and looks forward to painting and playing on the piano as well! This piano is inspired by a short story based on two sisters -in the story dancing in the field of wildflowers symbolizes forgiveness, acceptance, joy and celebration of a reunited family. This piano will be a reminder of forgiveness, acceptance, joy and celebration! 📚✨

It’s going to be a �rnyard Jamboree” in @downtownklamathfalls this Summer with Hallie Maney’s (@so_maney_portraits ) piano!! Hallie Maney is a self-taught, 24 year old, professional portrait artist new to the Klamath Falls area. She creates custom portraits using graphite, colored pencil, or watercolor. Her favorite part of being a professional artist is seeing peoples' reactions when receiving her work as a surprise from a loved one. The opportunity to paint a piano for the Klamath Falls Piano Project is very exciting for Hallie because it means getting to give back in her new community in a fun and unique way. .

I grew up in the Klamath basin and relocated to the Portland metro area after graduating from the UO. During this period I raised my daughters, taught and created art. I’ve exhibited in the Lake Oswego Festival of Art, Portland Saturday Market and other art exhibitions in the area. Three years ago I relocated to the area to be closer to family. This past November I was selected to attend an artist residency in Orquevaux, France. During my time there I explored new mediums that I want to continue to explore. It is my hope that during these difficult times on the planet I can use color and images to bring a bit of happiness to someone’s day!”

With the current global pandemic and travel restrictions we are in - our Summer travel plans might have changed a bit. However; the team at Klamath Basin Youth Without Boards (KBYWB) might inspired you when we are able to travel, again. _ _ Here is a sneak peak of 𠇊n Adventure Worth Waiting For” that will be painted by Taylor Hampton and the KBYWB Team Members. _ _ “Taylor Hampton runs a local nonprofit that works to give students an outletਏor traveling to developing countries and build with Habitat for Humanity. Through this organization, she has learned that travel is an important part of education that you can't get in a classroom. This gave her inspiration to make a travel themed piano for this year's Piano Project, that she plans to paint with others in the nonprofit. Taylor hopes that this design will inspire people to start imagining the places they can go once it's safe to travel again, and to not lose the spark of adventure.”

In high school I was given The Most Artistic award of my class. For my senior project I painted a mural of children playing in a tree for the YMCA which has now been moved to a playground in a local school. I am passionate about digital art but I still love to create paintings and all things bright, cheerful, and happy. You almost never see my art without a splash of pink so I’m excited to share with everyone what I can create.”

CASA is honored to be selected as one of the team of artist for this year’s Klamath Piano Project and look forward to engaging our staff, volunteers and children in this community event. The mission of the CASA for Children of Klamath County program is to provide  trained  volunteer  advocates for abused and neglected children who are dependent on the Juvenile Court to ensure their right to a safe and permanent home.  Through thisꂭvocacy, we will seek a timely  andਊppropriate disposition in the best interest of each child.

Did you know that back in 2001, Pizza Hut became the first restaurant chain to deliver to space. The pizza was sent to the International Space Station (ISS) onboard a resupply rocket. _ _ Here’s a sneak peak of Auora Sanchez’s 𠇍o you deliver to space?” piano she’ll be painting this Summer!! _ _ Aurora has lived in Klamath Falls off and on her entire life. She is always trying to find artistic fun ways to give back to the community that has offered her so much through out her lifetime! She enjoys many of the things Klamath has to offer such as walking on the trails at Moore Park with her two Dachshunds, enjoying locally owned cuisine, and gathering with friends for weekly trivia night. Her design is an homage to one of her favorite local spots in Klamath Falls, Rodeos, where you can find her most of the week serving up tasty pies, which also happens to be her favorite food. She looks forward to being a part of The Piano Project and the beautification of Klamath Falls!

In the heart of the Cascade Range there is a little sheet of water which is destined to take high ranks among the wonders of the world. It is a unique phenomenon, taken as a whole! _ _ Here’s a sneak peek of 𠇍reamy Nights” that will be painted by Alena Thomas. _ _ “My name is Alena Thomas, I am Jicarilla Apache, Navajo and a Klamath Tribal member. During my Senior year at Chiloquin High School I painted a mural on one of the walls. To my surprise as I painted my mural - students showed interest in what I was doing, some would accompany me and sit down to watch or would even come paint with me using whatever I had spread around the floor at the time. That’s when I realized just how much art can bring a community together. This community is my home and I would love to be able to create something that could bring a little more joy to someone’s day, even if it’s just for a quick moment as they drive by.”

“HOPE” - It is a word that holds significant power for many in our current uncertain times. _ _ Here is a sneak peek at Ashley Spivey’s “Hope Gives Us Wings” piano that she will be painting this summer! _ _ “I love everything related to the world of art, but mostly I love sharing my enthusiasm with others whether it is helping them explore their own creative process, creating a custom piece of art specifically for a special someone, or painting a mural for others to enjoy.  I have grown up in the Klamath Basin and I started my own backyard art studio, Starry Night Studio, eight years ago with the intention of having a few students of various ages participate in engaging art lessons with me during the summer. I teach preschool age children at Klamath Early Childhood Education Center for Early Childhood Intervention and love working with all young learners but especially my students with special needs. “

She loves creating artwork that is inspired from her surroundings. When it comes to creative projects, she dabbles in painting, drawing, miniatures, polymer clay, and silversmithing. She can’t wait to meet people in the community, and paint!

Now that the storm has passed and our Pianos are uncovered they ready to be played, again! Two of our pianos will need a little extra sunshine this week to dry out as some of the rain got under their tarps 🎼✨❤️

There is a severe thunderstorm watch for tonight and all of Saturday. All of our Pianos are covered and ready for this storm!!! ⚡️💦✨

Sometimes we get a little rain here and there in the Klamath Basin ☔󾃺ll pianos have tarps near their base. If you are out and about when it rain - feel free to cover them up and help us out! 🙏🏼✨

Our Downtown has so many unique building!! The Art Club from Henley High School did an amazing job on highlighting a few on their mural!! Stop by the City Annex Building located at 500 Klamath Avenue to see this work of art!! 🎨✨🎹
