Great day for #publicart in the Valley! The & #x27;Play Me, I& #x27;m Yours& #x27; Street Pianos project in Mesa kicked off this afternoon with all 24 pianos on display together at the #MesaArtsCenter for the only time before they& #x27;re placed in various locations around the city of Mesa. If you spot one thru April 9th around town, feel free to sit down and play a tune! The international street pianos project is the brainchild of UK artist Luke Jerram and has appeared in 50+ cities around the world, though it& #x27;s the first time in #Arizona. This has been a magical night, at my table I had the mayor, several Foundation Board members and low and behold right next to me was the woman who donated her baby grand for me to paint, her name is Hazel. The piano was her late mother& #x27;s, who loved nothing more than peonies. Her garden was full of them. And when she asked me what flowers I painted and I said "peonies", we both started crying. She said "I don& #x27;t know how I am going to explain this to my family, they aren& #x27;t going to believe me"...To be a channel, and to believe I was uncomfortable because I was afraid I didn& #x27;t know anyone at my table.
